The Society is organising the first Francen Cardiothoracic Registrars' Symposium to run at Wentworth Hospital from 11th-12th July. This is being sponsored by Ethicon SA and is designed for Registrar's approaching their final FCS (SA) Cardiothoracic examination.

Two Registrars from each of the 7 training centres have been invited and all 7 Heads of Department are taking part in the programme which will include lectures, seminars and instruction in both written and clinical techniques. Accommodation is being organised in Bed & Breakfast facilities and it is expected that many of the participants will use the opportunity to continue their stay in KwaZulu-Natal to attend the Society Forum at San Lameer which starts the evening of 12th.
